At ISTwente, each student is unique with individual needs. We are an inclusive school, promoting a positive, encouraging and respectful school environment for all students. Students are admitted at a level in which they can benefit the most from the curriculum.
In our admission form, we urge parents to be as clear as possible about their child’s educational needs, so that we can help the child to reach the best of his or her abilities. For students with more particular educational needs, we refer to our SEN Policy.
Every student in ISTwente secondary has a mentor-teacher, who guides students with their studies, provides pastoral care and is the first contact person for parents. Above that, since we are a small school, staff often have a one to one relationship with our students and parents.
It is not unusual that teachers tutor individual students outside the regular lessons, if the student needs extra help.
